Blogging with a beautiful peacock. Joy’s office for today.

The weather’s been nice for the whole week already! Only in the summer it’s like this in Belgium. So I have to get out of the house, take a walk in town. The current crypto crash made me sad… maybe the sunshine can easily heal.

Anyways, it’s more of a student city where I live, which is good and bad. Good is there are many cafes and bars; bad is everywhere is crowded. Now they are finishing schools and go home, so it feels more like a normal city, you know what I mean.

Groot verlof = summer holidays

I’ll get this ice cream later when I pass it again. The patisserie behind sells great chocolate cakes.

Arriving in the cafe I’m going to stay for a couple of hours now. All my friends are either in their office or busy doing something somewhere. But it’s fine, I can handle being alone, sometimes I prefer to be alone, more efficient and … you can eavesdrop what people around are talking about. Nowadays they seem happy, talking about whether they will go to the sea or the Ardennes for their holidays.

My office for this afternoon.

Another good think about this cafe is that they have two beautiful peacocks. Sometimes they are sleeping on the trees but today one is quite active, she’s sitting just behind me. Having fun blogging with peacocks!

Having fun on the city festival of Genk

Last weekend I went to Genk, there was a free city festival called Genk on Stage. I love the summer days in Belgium, even though the weather isn’t always great but there’s always something to do. You can choose to pay for the bigger festivals or just have fun on any free ones. 😀

It was the day Belgium played football with Panama, a great win. On Genk on Stage festival, there are many stages in the centre of Genk, the whole city feel like a huge party. I guess everyone went outside for the festival and for the football match.

Even though not a football fan myself, I find it interesting to see how creative Belgians are in dressing in their national colors. I love this little girl’s outfit. Even the ice cream matches.

One stage was retro themed. They gave me a balloon. 😀

And free festival doesn’t mean there’s no good bands playing. That day the Irish band Therapy? made a fantastic concert. I’ve seen them a couple of times before, this time they didn’t disappoint me either and apparently they are also Belgium football supporters. Look at that T-shirt lol.

Some pictures in my Paris trip

Today I’ll share some photos taken during my last Paris trip here.

Le mur des je t’aime (Wall of Love) is a “love” themed wall located in a square in Montmartre. On this wall “I love you” is written in all different languages. This wall is right next to metro stop “Abbesses”. These days it becomes one of the top photo spots in Paris, when I walked pass the wall, I had to wait for minutes until I could finally squeeze in an area with less people taking selfies with it.
When mentioning Montmatre’s landmark, Sacré-Cœur basilica, many including my Steemit friend @prydefoltz told the horrible story about scammers standing in front of stairs to the top of the church. I hate these stairs and the street from the stairs to the metro station. But if you turn left or right from the main road, you’ll find some nice cafes that is good to relax a bit.

Halle Saint-Pierre is one of these nice places in 18th arrondissement in Paris. It is a museum of naive art and there’s nice cafe on the ground floor. The museum contains a permanent exhibition and often presents temporary exhibitions of folk art, naive art, and outsider art too.

Some random beautiful door I found on Paris streets.

Holi mountain Sulaiman-Too in Osh

To be honest, I loved the landscape of Kyrgyzstan much more than its cities. Even though I was told that Osh is a historical and one of the most important cities along the ancient Silk Road, I didn’t think it’s that special. For sure it sounds amazing, with the largest bazaar in the whole Central Asia and Mountain Sulaiman-Too, which is called holy mountain by locals. I guess it is amazing because of its religious meaning, rather than the landscape, as I saw a lot of local tourists taking a walk to the hill and pray in the little caves.

Mountain Sulaiman-Too is located right in the center of Osh, next to the central park, so still great for a walk and get a view of the city anyway.

Mountain Sulaiman-Too

Behind me is the Museum Sulaiman Too, a museum of Kyrgyz history and culture. The two architecture is built in a big cave, the architecture itself looks wonderful! But not a museum person, especially for countries like Kyrgyzstan where its traditional culture is well kept and can still be seen in real life. not for this kind of museums anyway, so I didn’t go inside, admiring its architectural beauty from outside is pretty enough for me already. XD

On my way to the museum, there a place where people say you have to slide 3 times on a holy rock. I did that, was fun and I even made some videos of me doing that, but somehow I can’t find them, probably deleted when my phone got too full. Taking too much photo problems…

View of Osh, not the best but for sure not bad either, a super green city.
