Being a nature lover, I decided to start a new series of my travel posts – [Along the Dusty Roads]. It’s a twin series of the [Favorite Cities], as I love both nature and cities. I’ll record some of my past favorite nature trips and future ones here. I’m not really a hiker, not even an amateur one. Yet I do like to do some side trips to explore lovely nature mother wherever I travel to. This series would be some trip report.
I’m starting this series with an unforgettable landscape in North Argentina, the Sierras de Hornocal. Northern part of Argentina is regarded as one of the most scenery part of Argentina by many travelers. Serranias del Hornocal or known as mountain of 7 colors. It is located near a little town called The Quebrada de Humahuaca, which was the first part of Argentina to be explored and settled by the Spaniards.

Probably you’ve already tried mate tea, but if not, it’s a traditional South American caffeine-rich drink. Basically, you steep dried leaves of mate in hot water from the thermos and drink it in a traditional calabash gourd with a metal straw. You can get mate in little bag in the supermarket, I also saw some local lady selling it in the street in the Northern Argentina. La Boca has all the characteristics that I like about a city. It’s colorful, wild and filled with street arts. Just as I preferred La Candelaria in Bogota city and Gamarra in Lima city, I also preferred La Boca more than the modern part of Buenos Aires. Even though I was warned that it is not the safest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, still I found it a very pretty neighborhood.
Continue reading My favorite area in Buenos Aires – La Boca
