If you are an art cinema lover, you should definitely check out the legendary Armenian film director and artist Sergei Parajanov‘s museum in Yerevan. The museum is situated near the Hrazdan gorge, an absolutely scenic area in town.
Despite that Mr. Parajanov had only produced a handful of films, he has be nominated by many film critics as genius. In this house museum, we can feel thoroughly his borderless fantasy, talent and vision. Parajanov is unique in Armenian art of 20th century. He was being banned from film-making and eventually thrown in the Soviet prison for five years.
Parajanov was dedicated to the handmade artworks during his time in prison. The museum in Yerevan displays a wide collection of photo collages and other pieces of art made by Parajanov. I’ve heard there’re two options to cross the border into Iran, either by using mini buses to break the trip or by taking a direct bus. The direct bus takes around 22 hours to get to Tehran. It leaves at 10:30 in Yerevan and arrives at 8:10 (Iranian time). It’s probably the longest bus ride I’ve ever done.

I always consider myself an active travler, but traveling can be tiring sometimes. After a few busy days, what I want to do is to relax in a cozy teahouse or café for a while, to recharge for the further journey.
In Yerevan I’ve found a great place called library as it offers a wide collection of professional photography related books. Music was great as well. I noticed there are not that many café’s in Yerevan, so I’m glad I found a good one here.

It is a rainy day today. Yerevan is not a very big city, I managed to walk everywhere within the ring these few days. Today I went for a walk in Hrazdan Gorge, an area just outside the city. It is also said to be the oldest human settlement in Armenia.
