“Tapeo” (the art of eating tapas) is an important part of the Spanish culture and the social scene. The word “tapas” comes from the Spanish word “tapar” which means “to cover”. Normally tapas consist of a bread which is topped with a slice of meat, Spanish jamon, cheese or other small portions of dishes, in a tapas bar you might also see some dessert.
In Spain, tapas bars are always lively and full of talks and laughter as the most important thing about eating tapas is to gather a friends and to socialize when Spanish people drink beer or sangria and eat tapas.
I love tapas, it kinda reminds me of those summer nights when I lived in Southern China. We have a similar culture and we call that “Dai pai dong”, it’s like a food market street where you grab some BBQ and beer, socializing with friends late at night.
每次提到西班牙文化，不得不说说他们的Tapas文化。 在西班牙随处可见Tapas吧，通常指正餐之前作为前菜食用的各种小吃。Tapas变化多样，可以是简单的奶酪火腿，也可以是烹饪过的鱼或者虾。西班牙人喜欢跟朋友去Tapas吧聚会，大家一起聊天，喝酒，配上各种小吃仪器分享。Tapas文化也是一直社交文化。
这种饮食文化让我想起曾经我住在国内的那些夏夜。国内很多城市都有大排档和夜市文化，想起夏日的深夜，总是聚集曾经好友，三五成群一起去吃串喝酒的日子。每次来西班牙都觉得很怀念这种吃吃喝喝的氛围。
Spain is a country that enjoys perfect weather as it gets a long summer and a mild winter, which allows the Spanish sitting outside eating, drinking till late.
西班牙人特别幸运，拥有得天独厚的好天气，可以每天跟朋友去露天吃Tapas。
Barcelona city center is rather busy and touristy. If you go a bit further from the center area, some nice local street life can be spotted.
Carrer de Blai is the city’s favorite tapas street. It’s located in Barcelona’s Paral·lel area, at the foot of Montjuïc. It’s a great area, containing the city’s major party scene. Many pubs and nightclubs can be found. It was a coincidence that I happened to book an airbnb in the neighborhood, without knowing it’s so lively.
巴塞罗那市中心非常游客化，但是如果稍微走出老城区，就会发现 这个城市的年轻人生活非常丰富，很多区域都很生活化。比如Paral·lel这个区，晚上有很多酒吧，所以年轻人很多，很热闹。我这里不是来巴塞罗那泡吧，也是碰巧选了一个在Paral·lel的Airbnb，最让我惊喜的是这里有全市最受欢迎的Tapas一条街。都不用麻烦到处找吃的。
Carrer de Blai is full of different tapas bars. I just randomly walked in one at the corner. It was a wonderful treat after walking around the whole day in Barcelona. There were around 35 different types of pinchos to choose from. It was a busy place with good atmosphere.
这条街遍布各种Tapas吧，我随便走进了街角一家看上去很热闹的。这家有很多种可以用选择，看得我眼花缭乱。里面人来人往，大家欢声笑语，气氛很棒。
When I decided to make a trip in Barcelona, fellow Steemian @victory622told me that I had to drink a lot of Sangria. Indeed nothing can be better than a Sangria with tasty tapas. Their fresh sangria was just perfect.
每次提起巴塞罗那，victory622总会说要喝Sangria，酸酸甜甜的多好喝。这家的Sangria酒做的很新鲜，非常可口。配上各种小吃，真是太棒了。
Many pinchos were with an Asian twist. My favorites were prawn, salmon & octopus. The staff were super friendly and nice. I went back for more another night!
老板好像是亚洲人，很多小吃还加了一些亚洲特色的酱料，这里的选择基本都很不错，我最喜欢那个青椒夹鱼酱，还有虾的Tapas。后来又回去吃了几次。
In the end they count up the number of cocktail sticks that held together various toppings on bread. All the pinchos here cost only 1-1.5 euro each. I can get very full by paying 10 euro. Isn’t it great?
