Train is probably the most popular ways of transportation in Vietnam. The country has a north-to-south distance of more than 1600 km. If you want to see the whole country, train ride is probably inevitable. Train lover myself, I take trains everywhere in the world, in Vietnam as well of course.
The train is not so fast, it took 8 hours from Nha Trang to Saigon, but I like travelling slowly. If I have more time in Vietnam probably I’ll break the trip from Hanoi to Saigon (which is more than 30 hours) into more stops, not just Nha Trang.
Ga means station, something to do with the French “gare”?
Nha Trang station is so small, there’s not even a café inside, luckily a book shop is just next door and the café inside the bookshop has a great view of the station. I think Vietnam looks great in picture.
I took the second class, costs somewhere between 15-20 euro. It was less busy after a few stops and not bad at all!
