There are quite a few lakes in Hanoi city. Hoàn Kiếm Lake is the nearest one to the old town, it got some interesting monuments to attract both locals and tourists to visit. I did prefer West Lake a bit more, because it’s much calmer and bigger as well, thus better to relax.
I went to Hoàn Kiếm Lake on a car-free Sunday. Vietnamese traffic is crazy so carfree is perfect for me.
