Journey around Brussels in the Vintage trams

Last month when I was in Lisbon for the SteemFest, I spared some time for a ride on the famous historic tram 28. After realizing how much I loved the best old days, I went on a tour the other day in the tram museum in Brussels, to discover more about the trams in the past days. I like travelling with trams and have done it in many European cities. We don’t have that many trams in China nowadays any more like in Europe, which makes me love the trams even more.

Brussels’ Winter Wonderland

Brussels has one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe. Every year around one month before Christmas, there is this winter wonderland in town, Christmas market being part of it. The winter wonderland also includes a nightly sound-and-light show on the most beautiful Grand Place and stalls surrounding the Bourse and along the Sainte Catherine square.

Local Market in Oruro, Bolivia

Last semester we had a guest lecture by a Bolivian scholar where he introduced tourism development in Oruro province of Bolivia and let us know how many natural and cultural wonders there are in this area. In his words, Bolivia is the heart of South America (which is no doubt according to me, both culturally and geographically) and Oruro is the heart of Bolivia (um, geographically yes). I remember he concluded that Oruro could be the heart of South America, I was seriously doubtful about it as I had not heard about this city before.

In the end, during my Bolivian trip earlier this year, I was forced to have a stop in Oruro unexpectedly.
